The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead process improvement activities for assigned locations including identifying and quantifying opportunities, processing data analysis, successfully executing project management and solution implementation delivering sustained controlled results. Successfully leveraging Lean/DMAIC tools and processes to drive next generation productivity improvements, while supporting all channels of business. This role will directly engage with customers / partners to implement solutions that improve the customer experience.
Deliver Results as ONE Team – Analyze operations to identify, quantify and prioritize actionable areas of opportunity. Develop business cases (problem definition, establishing baselines, KPIs and financial impacts, etc.) for potential projects. Engage stakeholders cross functionally ensuring alignment and support for projects. Lead / support broader national and regional projects. Facilitate process improvement activities (e.g. Kaizen). Accountable for driving projects and achieving results. Propagate continuous improvement methodology / techniques / mindset across the organization as part of the Supply Chain Center of Excellence.
Engage with customers and partners to determine performance challenges and business needs. Participate in customer venues (QBR’s, Top 2 Top, location visits, etc.) supporting the long term improvements of KPI’s. Coach operations leaders to improve processes that result in improved customer experiences. Develop, communicate and present results to tailored to the level needed. Coach operations leaders to improve processes that result in improved customer experiences. Develop and facilitate training for Green Belt acumen to continue to grow the brand and culture. Partner with Finance operations to ensure financial savings models are vetted, clear, concise and detailed where needed.
Be a coach / mentor in the development of CI / LSS capability at all levels in the organization. Act as a resource to support training efforts of operations staff in the use of CI / Lean tools and processes. Participate in facility business reviews, providing insight and feedback on how venues can evolve to drive further performance improvements. Be innovative and teach the organization to “think differently”and celebrate great results. Be resilient and courageous by speaking up frequently and candidly to be perceived as “open”.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or similar field desired.
“Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Project Management certifications desired, demonstrated application of DMAIC methodology and Lean techniques in multiple projects required
Minimum of three years of project management / process improvement experience required, preferably in supply chain environment.
Proficiency with data analysis and basic statistics required (statistical process control, hypothesis testing desired).
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel required, experience with other data systems / software strongly desired (MS Access, Sequel Server, Hyperion, Minitab, MS Project, MS SharePoint, etc.).
Warehouse or transportation management experience (including related ERP system) desired.
Strong multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills. Ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs.
Other: Experience with Supply Chain, Transportation and Warehouse Operations a plus.
