The Director of Chain Sales provides direction and effectively lead the team to ensure that all services are meeting the stated business objectives on a timely basis, with excellent quality. The Director is responsible for developing winning proposals, collecting and analyzing data, as well as preparing and conducting client business reviews that lead to customer retention and profitable sales growth. In this capacity, the Director closely collaborates with team members, department managers and applicable stakeholders to provide factual data which allows reduction in shrink and cost savings, as well as greater understanding of internal and external business objectives.
Set, execute and achieve customer key performance indicators (KPIs), strategic initiatives and overall vision of the sales department.
Conduct ongoing analysis and reviews to develop standard operating practices, process improvements and contact compliance.
Manage multiple customer business initiatives, including new customer startups, additional business and facility realignments.
Provide sales updates identifying future opportunities and obstacles to success while recommending action plans.
Build relationships with and interact with customer resolving concerns and issues promptly by utilizing cross functional partners.
Lead, develop and train team members; including hiring, training and development of sales support staff. Lead and provide regular update sessions, leadership training and on-going one-on-one work with sessions.
Act as a liaison between upper management and customer account teams.
Travel Required: Yes
Specialized Knowledge: Solid understanding of financials, including P&L impacts of sales; Advanced Knowledge of Account Management, Customer Service, Supply Chain & Logistics/Shipping; Knowledge of transportation, grocery and retail industries.
Special Skills: Strong leadership skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize, strong insights, organizational and analytics skills; Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve customer escalations; Ability to interact and integrate with a complex business model; Outstanding customer insight with a drive for service; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Superior decision-making and project management skills.
